A 3-part project discovering the relationship between design and human experience while finding authentic purpose in design
About Design is not only about form-giving and problem-solving, but also about creating relationships, meaning, and transformation. This three part project will help find how deepest passions meet today’s urgent needs. ‍
01 Calling Intention
Brief
Creative work reaches deep into our intuitive and unconscious minds, into our hearts and feelings. Examine the ways in which your calling intention and pattern can be interpreted and represented in visual form of a calender poster.

Pattern

Calling Intention

Sketches

Final Project 1

The spiral patterns help give a strong hierarchy and balance throughout the composition. I experimented using multiple methods of materials such as procreate, illustrator, and indesign.
02 Building Awareness

Brief

Design an orihon-style folding booklet visualizing the unique personality and character of your interview partner and their relationship to nature.
interview and sketches

1. Who inspires you and Why? My uncle inspires me the most because even though his upbringing was rough, he maintained being a selfless, determined, and strong-willed man. 2. What color do you most resonate with and why? My favorite color is sky blue because it reminds me of the serene comfort of the sky and how it’s a reflection of the sea. 3. How do you access your intuition?I tend to be mindful instead of going with my first instinct. I weigh my pros an cons and try to analyze outcomes before making important decisions. 4. How has life changed you since Covid? Covid has taught me to be careful and mindful. I have to be aware of my hygiene and where I am going in order for me, my family, and roommates to be safe. It’s also taught me to go with the flow because there was an incident right before the pandemic where I was about to leave to Russia but then my dad had a really bad accident and so I had to cancel my plans. Next thing we know, a whole lockdown ensues. It would have meant I would’ve been stuck in Russia. Although my dad’s accident was horrible, coincidences like these has taught me to find balance in things. 5. What invitations are you offering to the world?Im a big advocate for protesting, volunteering, and designing with purpose. I’m also helping my Ukrainian friend by sending them supplies. 6. Tell me a transforming experience you’ve had in nature.I was driving to Southern California and stopped at a beach halfway there and just sat and reflected. I had just got a job acceptance and realized I usually never sit and acknowledge my own gratitude and blessings. I was able to slow down for a minute and contemplate not only this win for myself but admire the beautiful lifeforms of rock and ocean surrounding me.

Final Project 2

03 Organizational Intentions

Brief

Create a entrepreneurship with branding, containing: a purpose, identity, web appearance, and artifact all within a booklet pitch

How can we share the sustainable properties of algae forests with humanity so that we empower conscious solutions to protect and restore precious ecosystems?

Work in Progress

As a peer project, we focused on a sustainable entrepreneurship using algae as a building material and energy alternative. I contributed with the brand identity and the artifact which would be an illustrative work of the location and event where our business is held.
